Picture Books for Memorial Day

Picture Books for Memorial Day

“I believe our flag is more than just cloth and ink. It is a universally recognized symbol that stands for liberty, and freedom.”
– John Thune

As we approach this holiday marked by barbecues and fresh fruit…maybe we can also mark it with a great book, or two.

Our children may never know the sacrifice it takes to preserve our freedoms, and we hope they do not have to know that type of sacrifice.

However, we have a privilege granted to us as citizens of the USA. It is a special thing to live in a nation so marked by courage and bravery. It’s a special thing to live in a country that refugees run to for a better life. Let’s bring that into our homes this month through the stories of people who have given their lives to defend our freedom.
