TREE GUIDE DRAFT: A Tree is a Home

Read
Reread any of the books you’ve read so far while drinking tea. Talk about ways trees give to others and the ways trees have given to you.

Phonics
Glue dirt to fill the inside of the large Letter “H“ Printable. Bounce or crawl toy bugs up and down your newly filled Leter “H.”

Fine Motor Skills
Trace a letter “H” in a bin of potting soil or dirt. What does it smell like? What does it feel like? How would you describe the dirt as you draw in it?

Large Motor Skills
Pretend to be a spider. Using a skein of yarn and your kitchen table and chairs, “spin” a web all around it.  Why is a tree a nice place for a spider to spin a web? (Plenty of food, safe from many predators, etc.)

Art Skills
Make a homemade wind chime out of natural items, such as sticks, acorns, leaves, and pinecones.

Practical Life Skills
Sweep and clean up any dirt in your home after your activities.
