Favorite Books for Homeschool Moms

A few of my favorite resources for personal growth as a homeschool mom have been:

Books

The Charlotte Mason Companion by Karen Andreola- It's a great overview of the CM method.

In Vital Harmony by Karen Glass- This is very helpful for understanding CM philosophy so you can tailor your homeschool to your own family values.

For the Children's Sake by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay-Another great starter book for CM families.

Mere Motherhood by Cindy Rollins-It reads beautifully like a memoir but illustrates how Cindy implemented CM in her large family.

The Brave Learner by Julie Bogart- This book really highlights how to add whimsy to your homeschool, and how to keep children engaged as they grow.

Awaking Wonder by Sally Clarkson- This was a wonderful overview of a Christ centered homeschool.

The Call of the Wild and Free by Ainsley Arment- A perfect starter book for understanding the different methods.

The Successful Homeschool Family Handbook by Dr. Raymond and Dorothy Moore- I love most books by the Moore's because they illustrate homeschooling as a family lifestyle instead of simply a way of educating.

Hero Education by Oliver DeMille-This is a favorite resource for high school, because instead of bogging high school students down with too much tedium, he recommends reading great books and discussing them.

Courses
The Peaceful Path to a Living Education-In this course, Kristin Dahman and I discuss how to create a living education. We include tips on preschool through high school as well as ideas for managing your home while homeschooling.

Morning Time Discipleship by Cindy Rollins-She has many great resources for continued growth for homeschool moms.

What are your favorite homeschool mama books and courses? I'd love to add them to my list!
