Nurturing a Peaceful Preschooler

Nurturing a Peaceful Preschooler

Nurturing a Peaceful Preschooler helps everyone in the family enjoy learning. Preschoolers have big emotions and can quickly take all the energy out of the day, so taking time to lay a foundation with your preschooler will help everybody thrive.

Nourishing Food: Start the Day Strong

Preschoolers stay calm when they have a steady diet of nourishing food, so prepping healthy breakfasts and snacks will start the day off right. A few of our favorite simple breakfasts are-

  • Peanut butter toast.
  • Overnight oatmeal (place in a rice cooker the night before to soak with salt and cinnamon). Serve with applesauce or milk.
  • Scrambled eggs.
  • Breakfast frittata, assemble the night before.
  • High protein pancakes.
  • Yogurt and fruit.

Chore and Routine Bundle: Helping the Day Flow

To bring a sense of order to your day (and reduce those constant questions about "what's next?"), Try the Chore and Routine Bundle. This includes printable routine charts and age-appropriate chore cards that can empower preschoolers to know what comes next and work through chores so they don't have to wait for you to be done nursing the baby or making breakfast to start their day.

Start with just one or two chore cards and use velcro dots so they can move the cards from the "To Do" to "Done" charts.

Morning Time Menu: Starting the Day with Beauty

While you finish your morning preparations, hand your children the cozy Morning Time Menu pages, tucked into a menu cover. It includes alphabet tracing, numbers, colors, shapes, and more for a simple, independent morning time activity.

The Good Gospel: Sharing the Peace of God

We start our morning time routine with a peaceful routine of Bible verses, singing, and prayer, and The Good Gospel leads you through a routine like this with 26 lessons based on the life of Jesus.

The Peaceful Preschool Volume 1

Carve out time each day to read a classic picture book to your preschooler and engage in a few minutes of phonics, counting, motor skills, and art. These simple activities will support strong motor skills development, nurture connection, and build phonics and counting skills.

The Peaceful Preschool Volume 2

When you've finished a year of Peaceful Preschool Volume 1, you can transition to Peaceful Preschool Volume 2 (coming soon). This resource includes favorite lessons from the Restoration Home Community, along with brand new lessons, to create a seasonal fall-to-spring preschool year. It releases in June and we can't wait to share the joy with you!
