This year, I've been reading about homeschoolers in history, people who learned at least part of the time from home and who went on to have successful careers.
It's a diverse group of people; some came from single-parent families, some grew up in poverty, but all of them had three gifts in childhood-
- Time to pursue their own interests, to think and observe.
- At least one supportive adult who cared about what they were learning.
- A love for literature and immersion in beautiful stories. (see our master booklist here)
As you plan your homeschool year, these three components are important to consider. A
Smithsonian study of genius from several years ago found that high achievers had a similar experience in childhood. They had supportive adults, and they weren't overscheduled in childhood.
This is one of the beautiful aspects of Peaceful Press. We help you simplify homeschooling by combining children into one study group for history, science, and literature, eliminating busy work.
This gives your family more time to pursue interest-led studies, enjoy the outdoors together, or just devour beautiful books.
Instead of trying to monitor what your children are doing on the computer, or managing multiple levels of textbooks, you gather your children to read aloud, talk about what you read, and narrate or notebook your learning.
In just an hour or two a day, your children will have a superior learning experience, with plenty of time leftover to do a math lesson or complete a grammar worksheet.
Families who use our homeschool curriculum say it was the best years of learning for them, and their children thrive when using our balanced approach to learning.
Amanda said, “Thanks to Kind Kingdom, my kids know more British history than most Brits!”
Melinda said, “So glad we found the Peaceful Press! We absolutely adored the Playful Pioneers and are looking forward to Kind Kingdom this fall.”
and Julia said, "I love this curriculum! I'm now using it on my sixth child! It's THE BEST way to learn while being relational and staying close."
And this is what is most important.
One of our goals is to have well-educated children, but when you have children with great people skills and healthy attachments to their families, you will have healthy communities and a more peaceful world.
You can have it all with the Peaceful Press.
Frequently Asked Questions-
Do you offer printed copies?
We offer a printed bundle of the Peaceful Preschool, and you can buy The Good Gospel, our homeschool planner, and the Conversation Journal as printed copies on Amazon. When you purchase any of our other resources, we send a link to a third-party printer, Humble Heart Press, where you can get a great price on printing these items.
Which resource should I start with?
We recommend starting with the Peaceful Preschool for children ages 3-5, and Playful Pioneers for children in elementary school.
What is the recommended order?
The recommended order for using our resources if your oldest child is 3 is as follows;
3-4 year old- Peaceful Preschool
4-5 year old- Peaceful Preschool Volume 1
5-6 year old- Nourishing Nature Kindergarten
6-7 year old- Precious People Volume 1 world geography, coming fall of 2025
7-8 year old- Playful Pioneers (use this first until the new Precious People comes out)
8-9 year old- Kind Kingdom
9 -10 year old- Precious People (the original bundle which will become Volume 2)
10-11 year old- Playful Pioneers Volume 2
11-12 year old- Kind KIngdom Volume 2
This will carry you through 6th grade, or longer if you have younger children in the mix or repeat any of these cycles. We used Kind Kingdom Volume 2 for our daughter's 9th grade year, and since you add grade-specific math and phonics, spelling, or grammar, you can easily fold in younger or older children to create family-style learning that is engaging, relational, and deepens their understanding of world events, natural history, and more.
