Teaching Kindergarten with the award-winning
Nourishing Nature Kindergarten:
A Gentle, Nature-Based Approach
Kindergarten doesn't have to mean worksheets, busywork, or hours of sitting at a desk. In fact, it shouldn't. These early years are a time for wonder, movement, connection, and curiosity — and that's exactly what Nourishing Nature Kindergarten offers.
This beautiful, nature-based curriculum is designed to nurture the whole child — body, mind, and heart — while gently guiding them through foundational skills in literacy, math, and nature study.
Reviewers say-
“We are in our first year of homeschooling with a mostly Charlotte Mason (and some classical) influence. This Kindergarten curriculum has been wonderful and so comprehensive for planning lessons, particularly for Social Studies, Science, and English Language Arts subjects. My 5.5 year old daughter loves the books (we utilize the book lists in the guide and all of them are available through our local libraries!) and the activities are easy to plan for and have a big and fun impact. I highly recommend this curriculum as a stand alone or supplement to your homeschool Kindergarten plans--the value is fantastic for all that you get out of it!” Ferial

If you're wondering how to actually teach kindergarten using this program, here's a look at a daily flow.
Begin with a Gentle Daily Rhythm
Nourishing Nature Kindergarten is not about rushing. It's about establishing a peaceful rhythm that allows your child to thrive in a predictable, nourishing routine.
A typical day might look something like this:
Breakfast and Chores – Start the day with nourishing meals and a simple daily chore routine.
Morning Time: Read the daily story, narrate, and add Morning Time Menu work, a nature Bible verse, a hymn, or a Good Gospel lesson if desired. These stories cover social studies and science for your kindergarten year, and you can ask your child to tell you about the story to develop early narration skills.
Nature-Based Kindergarten Lesson – Nourishing Nature Kindergarten includes daily phonics, counting, art, and motor skills work. These activities are usually completed in an hour or less a day, and it's important to alternate active work with seat work so children don't get overwhelmed.
Outdoor Play & Practical Life Skills—After formal lessons are completed, allow your children time to play and act out what they have learned. Take time each day to also do the listed practical life skills activities so your child gains the ability to care for themselves and their environment.
Quiet Time – Take an hour each day after lunch for quiet time. Your child could simply lay on their bed and look at books, or play quietly in their room.
Teaching kindergarten with Nourishing Nature Kindergarten is less about “doing school” and more about living and learning together.
With a gentle rhythm, a heart for nature, and a focus on meaningful connection, you'll give your child a beautiful beginning.
