A Kindergarten Plan

A Kindergarten Plan

Many families are using our one month nature guides as a transition from The Peaceful Preschool to The Playful Pioneers, The KInd KIngdom, or The Precious People for 4-6 year old children, and we wanted to give you a few tips for making a transition…

Nourishing Nature Kindergarten is the perfect resource to teach your children everything they need for happy school days. The phonics and counting skills lay a great academic foundation, while the motor skills activities help avert learning disabilities by giving children a developmentally appropriate early childhood education.

“In this time of extraordinary pressure, educational and social, perhaps a mother’s first duty to her children is to secure for them a quiet and growing time, a full six years of passive receptive life, the waking part of it for the most part spent out in the fresh air.”

Charlotte Mason

Nourishing Nature Kindergarten includes a read-aloud selection, phonics, and counting skills activities, fine and large motor skills, art, and practical skills centered around nature themes.

Simply start your day with a morning rhythm that includes your read-aloud for the day, and then move on to the activities, alternating seatwork with more active tasks so young children can stay engaged.

In a Charlotte Mason homeschool, the formal learning would be done by noon, leaving plenty of time in the day for imaginative play, naps, and some alone time so that mama can regroup.

You can find the Nourishing Nature Kindergarten book list here.

While the curriculum features several beautiful picture books, some families also love reading chapter books to their young students while they work through the resource.
