Intentional Christmas Gifts for the Whole Family

Intentional Christmas Gifts for the Whole Family

Christmas Gift Ideas

Christmas shopping can be so overwhelming. I’ve got seven children, two lovely daughters-in-law, and now grandchildren!  It’s a joy to delight my family, but I also don’t want to spend all my time perusing the internet. I’d rather be there with them, playing games, making crafts, and baking together. I’m guessing you feel the same way, so I’ve gathered a few gift ideas that I hope can help make this season easier for you.

FOR MOM

A Heartwarming Book-On my list this year is The Awakening of Miss Prim, ( I read it but it was so good I want to own it) and Mothering by the Book makes a wonderful Christmas gift as well. You can find our whole list of favorite books for moms on Amazon here.

Hu Chocolate- My favorite chocolate with coconut sugar so it's a little less of a guilty pleasure.

Mrs. Meyers Cleaning Products- If you have to clean for the holidays, it's a little more fun in scents like Gingerbread and Snow Pine.

Mothering by the Book Mug- Mothering by the Book mug offers a great list of books to enjoy with your children.

The Restoration Home Hat- This adorable dad hat is perfect for long days outdoors with the kiddos.

Homeschool Planner- The homeschool planner contains 12 undated months with a weekly planner, student schedules, goal setting, attendance sheet, book log, field trip planner, meal planning, and much more.

Essential Oil Starter Kit- I love diffusing clove and orange oil over the holidays and slathering on Thieves at the first sign of illness. A starter kit would make a perfect Christmas gift for health-conscious mamas.

Orange Candle- This soy candle looks wonderful for creating Christmas ambience.

Restoration Home Daily Journal- This daily prayer journal is a perfect gift for intentional mothers.

FOR DAD

An Audible Membership- We all want our husbands to read more, but sometimes listening is the better method of expanding their literary awareness. My husband’s favorite audible books this year were The Deerslayer, The Robe, and The Wind in the Willows.

Ferro Rod- This would be fun for older sons as well. It’s a firestarter as well as a survival bracelet.

Inversion Table- This is on our wish list. I tried out my parent’s inversion table and was amazed, and I think my husband would appreciate the relief to his back.

FOR THE PRESCHOOLER

Baskets- Preschoolers love carrying things, and a basket is a perfect reservoir for dolls, stuffed animals, and other favorite toys.

Rocker or Wobble Board- These toys are perfect for developing core strength.

Wooden Musical Instruments- I don’t like battery-operated toys partly because of the noise, but a little music-making, while we sing, can be fun.

Peg Game- This Montessori peg and screwdriver set is perfect for fine motor skills and developing little builders.

Toy Animals- Schleich is my favorite brand for quality animal figurines, and this baby elephant and giraffe would make a great start to your collection.

FOR THE STUDENTS

Pioneer Girl Costume- For families using The Playful Pioneers, this pioneer costume would be a sweet gift.

Butter Churn- Pioneer kids would love making their own butter with this beautiful little churn.

Knight Costume- While studying the Kind Kingdom you could gift a knight costume to help your children act out the stories they are listening to.

Survival Kit- This is for the mature child or teen but would be an awesome alternative to video game consoles and much more useful. It’s a great gift to inspire adventure as you study jungle missionaries in The Precious People.

Watercolor Paints- This is my favorite portable watercolor set for nature journaling.

Watercolor Journal- This spiral-bound journal is perfect for taking on nature outings.

Chemistry Set- This kit includes projects that would dazzle any child.

Books- The Peaceful Press book lists have amazing suggestions for all ages. Visit our Amazon storefront for the lists or download them as a PDF on our website.

For Friends, Family and Neighbors

Beeswax Lip Balm

Beeswax Candles

Stained Glass Luminary

Elderberry Syrup

Sleepy Time Tea Blend

Homemade Playdough

Grab one of our Christmas Guides to get step by step instructions to some of these gift ideas, or try a free sample of our curriculum here.

With any shopping, I do my best to buy local, or from fair trade sellers, but I’ve linked to my Amazon shop here, and I hope you can find the gifts that you need to buy with the least amount of money and stress, so Christmas can be peaceful and bright for your family.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to buy everything on these lists?

Not at all! These suggestions are simply meant to spark ideas and make your Christmas planning easier. Choose what fits your family’s budget, values, and season of life.

Are the gift ideas linked in the post affiliate links?

Yes, some links are affiliate links, which means The Peaceful Press may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Thank you for supporting our family business in this way.

Are these gift ideas faith-based or secular?

A little of both. Many recommendations are practical, creative, and nature-inspired, while others reflect our family’s faith and love of great literature. You can choose what best fits your home.

Do I need to be a homeschool family to use these gifts?

No! While some gifts pair beautifully with The Peaceful Press curriculums, the majority are wonderful for any family who values intentional living, creativity, and time together.

Are these gifts budget-friendly?

There’s a wide range—from simple homemade gifts to more substantial investments. Many readers love to mix both, especially using handmade gifts from our Christmas Guides.

How do I make the homemade gifts mentioned?

You can find step-by-step instructions for many of the homemade items—like sugar scrubs, beeswax candles, and luminaries—in our Christmas Guides. We also offer a free sample with several DIY project ideas.

What if I’m short on time for handmade gifts?

Simple is still meaningful. A small basket with a few store-bought treats, a handwritten note, or a single homemade item (like elderberry syrup or lip balm) is often more than enough.

Why are these particular books or products recommended?

Every item on this list is something our family has used, loved, or personally enjoyed. We only recommend resources we genuinely believe can bless and inspire families.

Do you update these gift lists each year?

Yes—each year we refresh recommendations and add new finds from our own family rhythms and what our readers have loved most.

What if I want more book or gift suggestions?

You can explore our Amazon storefront or browse our Peaceful Press book lists, which are available as PDFs on our website. They’re full of carefully chosen titles for all ages.
