I purchased Beautiful Babies as I used a level of Peaceful Press with my older daughter a couple of years ago and it was lovely. She is now a high school student but we both remember Kind Kingdoms fondly. I am now pregnant with baby #2, fifteen years after baby #1. I wanted to purchased something that I can use intentionally with baby and toddler years that will allow us to spend quality time together and prioritize connection over academics. My plan is to have my high schooler help implement some of the things from Beautiful Babies and I’m having her read a couple of the recommend books for parents, and I’m counting this as an early childhood education credit. I have read everything and ordered a couple of the recommended books. I’m due in early December and my plan is to start implementing some of the very basic plans and ideas this spring. It seems like such a beautiful way to build intentional habits and make connections while we await preschool years without loading them down with academics. It is Montessori and CM friendly and seems like the best minimalist option out there for busy homeschool moms to build in connections with their youngest little ones.
My toddler is only 2 so we’ve extended each week into 2 weeks and he absolutely loves it! He gets so excited every time I mention doing “school!” I love how organized the curriculum is and it’s giving us a great structure and connection with each other every day. We love it!
I purchased this to try something new this year. School has been difficult to engage the boys especially in the past. It felt like we were all over the place and always behind with the previous curriculums. This one is easy to use and we are loving it so far. Everyone is engaged, everything is much more cohesive and we’ve been able to stay on track. I’m using it for my 2nd & 3rd graders and kindergarten and the littles join in too! I have also been able to find any of the books we haven’t purchased, as YouTube read alouds. Great resource!
This is my 5th year using the Peaceful Press and what continues to draw me in is the beauty and cohesiveness of the curriculum- history through living books, art, hymns, poems, recipes, science, geography, Bible, practical life - somehow these all tie into each other and make the learning feel so rich and so beautiful. I love that there are free reading suggestions for all age groups and levels, and that although my children span multiple ages (6, 8, & 11 now), most of our learning time happens together. I LOVE this way of learning and only wish I could continue to use PP through high school!
