My daughter just finished her first year of "traditional" school and I was nervous about the lack of routine that comes along with a summer break, so I purchased this single Garden Guide to give our summer days some purpose and structure. It seemed like a great way to add some intention to our summer together while also exploring the idea of home eduction (I've always been intrigued by it) in a noncommittal and low-pressure way. Oh my! It has completely opened my eyes. I have thoroughly enjoyed the way this guide has facilitated some incredible moments of connection between my daughter and I and opened my heart to the idea of educating our children at home. When I pre-read through the days, they felt simple enough to not feel overwhelmed by it, but when we actually got into them, it was so easy to find ways to draw out the activities and make it a very meaningful opportunity to connect, learn together (yes, even I learned some new things!) and explore the world around us. My daughter absolutely loved the activities and was so engaged. It was easy to involve my 18 month old in most of the activities too. My eyes are truly opened. My husband and I are still mulling over and praying about whether home education is the direction we want to take our family, but I can tell you for sure that if we decide to go for it, I will absolutely be starting out with using The Peaceful Press resources.
